Transfer Rumours: Bath eying up experienced versatile back

Yorkshire Carnegie’s highly versatile back Alex Davies is reported to be in discussions to join Bath Rugby.

The Bath Chronicle is reporting the Aviva Premiership side have held talks with the 31-year-old who can play at both fly half and scrum half.

Todd Blackadder is in need of a third choice option at fly-half with Josh Lewis heading to the Dragons at the end of the season.

In this season’s Championship, Davies has played fly-half five times and scrum-half five times; kicking 69 points.

If he does join Bath he is likely to be a ten behind Rhys Priestland and Freddie Burns. Kahn Fotuali’i, Chris Cook, Will Chudley and Darren Allinson are all contracted as senior scrum halves next season.
