The 24-year-old has played for the Blue Bulls since 2013 but also did a season in Japan, playing for NTT DoCoMo Red Hurricanes.
South Africa Schools and Under-20 representation at three World Championships led to him making his full Springboks debut in 2014.
He now has 39 caps and has established himself as the Boks’ first-choice ten.
