Transfer Rumours: Northampton targeting triple signing

The Rugby Paper has reported this morning that Northampton Saints are keen to recruit former All Blacks Ben Franks and Jeremy Thrush, who have both played for incoming new Director of Rugby Chris Boyd at the Hurricanes.

The pair are both free agents in the summer after failing to agree on new deals with Premiership rivals London Irish and Gloucester respectively.

Thrush won 11 caps for the All Blacks and was widely expected to be heading to France when he leaves Kingsholm this summer but Neil Fissler has insisted a move to Franklin’s Gardens cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, World Cup-winner Franks, who can play on either side of the scrum, is being sought out by Boyd to boost Saints front-row options.

The Kiwi has also been linked with Fijian winger Patrick Osbourne, who played Super Rugby for the Chiefs and Highlanders before joining Japanese side Kubota Spears.
