Transfer Rumours: Sale Sharks target world-class Springbok lock

Sale Sharks are hoping to sign a world-class lock for next season and have identified the Springbok lock Franco Mostert as their number one target.

The Sharks had initially been keen to convince England lock Joe Launchbury to ditch Wasps and come to the AJ Bell Stadium but he has since reportedly signed a new contract to remain at the Ricoh Arena.

The Rugby Paper has reported that Sharks are now keen on Mostert, who has been attracting the interest of a host of Premiership clubs.

The 26-year-old currently plays his trade for Ricoh Black Rams in Japan and will then join the Golden Lions, but is looking for a move to the Premiership in time for the start of the 2017/18 season.
