The Exeter back-rower faces an uphill battle to feature at the Rugby World Cup next year after being ruled out for between six and nine months with a major knee ligament injury.


Flanker: Taulupe Faletau (Wales)

Taulupe Faletau is expected to miss Wales’ autumn internationals after breaking his arm in Bath’s loss to Exeter. No timescale has yet been put on the No 8’s recovery but it is a major blow for Bath and Wales as he could realistically face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.


Number 8: Billy Vunipola (England)

ill miss England’s autumn internationals after breaking his left arm in their Champions Cup victory over Glasgow Warriors on Sunday. The 25-year-old needs surgery and will be out of action for up to 12 weeks. He recently returned to action after fracturing his right arm during England’s summer tour of South Africa.
