With less than a month to go until the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off, England is preparing to host more than just world-class rugby. A series of official Fan Zones will be rolled out across host cities, promising a vibrant six-week celebration of women’s rugby like never before.
Free to enter and open on match days and select dates throughout the tournament, the Fan Zones will offer live screenings, music, rugby coaching sessions, food stalls and more, transforming public spaces into buzzing hubs of sport and culture.
London’s Battersea Power Station will lead the way as the capital’s flagship Fan Zone, operating from the 13th to the 27th of September. The iconic riverside venue will feature a packed schedule, including live match screenings, DJs, T1 Rugby open coaching, community rugby activations, and partner events, in partnership with Ocean Outdoor.
Sarah Massey, Managing Director of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, said: “We’re incredibly excited to confirm the Fan Zones that will bring the tournament to life across England.
“Whether you are a lifelong rugby fan or discovering the sport for the first time, the Fan Zones will offer something for everyone. We want everyone to feel the energy of this tournament and to give fans, local communities and visitors the chance to engage, celebrate and be a part of this unmissable moment for women’s rugby.”
London Mayor Sadiq Khan added: “London is proud to stage the Women’s Rugby World Cup, which will be one of the highlights of the year. The Official Tournament Fan Zone at Battersea Power Station will be a spectacular festival of sport and culture that will give fans, Londoners and visitors the chance to be part of this incredible moment for women’s rugby.
“I have declared London the undisputed global capital for women’s sport in 2025 and the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be one of the premier major sporting events this year, creating a huge celebration of women’s sport across our city.
“We look forward to welcoming the world’s best women’s rugby teams to our capital as we work together to build a better London for everyone.”
Ocean Outdoor’s Head of Content and Sponsorship, Kevin Henry, said:
“Ocean has a track record for connecting sports fans to the action in ways others can’t, entertaining outdoor audiences for the past 10 years. London’s Battersea Power Station is the perfect venue to showcase women’s rugby, attract new fans, and curate a world class experience for RWC 2025 which inspires more women and girls to participate and thrive in sport.”
Fan Zones Across England
While London will be a key hub, Fan Zones will also feature in other official host cities, each adding their own local flair:
Sunderland will activate its Fan Zone from 21–23 August in Keel Square, featuring local music, a matchday fan march, interactive digital activations, and food stalls — all part of the city’s Music City and Food Festival.
Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens will host events around their match weekends, showcasing local rugby clubs, family activities and food vendors under the MCR Live 25 banner.
In Northampton, themed weekends begin 24 August in Market Square, including live music, family-friendly zones and interactive sports activities.
Bristol’s iconic Amphitheatre will become a community-focused venue for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with hands-on rugby zones, craft activities, and a “conversion corner”.
Exeter’s Princesshay Shopping Centre will transform into a daily fan hub from 22 August to 27 September, with screenings, music, and entertainment leading up to and during the tournament.
Brighton & Hove will bring the atmosphere to Victoria Gardens between 4–7 September, with DJs, sports demos, face painting and more.
While York will not have a city-centre Fan Zone, matchday activations and a fan plaza will enhance the in-venue experience at the stadium.
With the tournament running from 22 August to 27 September, across eight venues, Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 is shaping up to be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby the sport has ever seen.
