Bath announce exit of South African prop - move confirmed to Connacht for 2026/27 season

Bath have confirmed that Francois van Wyk will depart the club at the conclusion of the 2025/26 PREM Rugby campaign. The loose-head prop will move to Ireland to join Connacht Rugby ahead of the 2026/27 United Rugby Championship season.

Van Wyk arrived at Bath in the summer of 2024 and has since made 41 appearances in Blue, Black and White. The experienced South African, who has previously featured in both the Gallagher Premiership and Super Rugby, will now add the United Rugby Championship to his playing resume.
During his time at Bath, van Wyk has played a key role in the club’s historic treble winning season, contributing to last season's triumph in the Gallagher Premiership, the EPCR Challenge Cup and the Premiership Rugby Cup. A well-loved member of the squad, van Wyk will see out the rest of the 2025/26 season in Blue, Black and White before heading to Galway.
