Cruel blow for England and Ben Youngs as the scrum-half is forced off with a nasty-looking knee injury.
The referee was forced to stop the game just before the 12th minute of the game with the 28-year-old screaming in pain near the halfway line.
Youngs was in the process of distributing the ball from the base of the ruck with England leading 5-0 after Anthony Watson’s early try when a player rolled over his leg and trapped his knee in an awkward-looking position, with medics rushing to his aid soon afterwards.
World Cup winners Jason Robinson and Lewis Moody immediately recognised the seriousness of the injury, tweeting his thoughts minutes after Youngs’ withdrawal.
Here’s hoping @benyoungs09 is ok?

Wishing my old Leicester team mate @benyoungs09 a very speedy recovery

Doesn’t look good for Ben Youngs that was some scream. Another injury isn’t what Eddie Jones will have wanted. #ITAvENG

Really hope I’m wrong, but how that looks (and sounded), can’t see Ben Youngs playing much more this six nations. #ITAvENG
