Brian O’Driscoll picks no Irish in his Lions back-line

2005 Lions skipper Brian O’Driscoll has named the back-line he believes capable of defeating South Africa when the eagerly awaited Test series versus the Springboks in July.

The four-time Lions tourist and former captain didn’t pick a single Irish player in his backline.

Brian O’Driscoll went through who he would pick:

BACK-THREE:

Stuart Hogg (Scotland), Anthony Watson (England), Jonny May (England);

“You look at the calibre, you want X-factor and guys who can win games on their own I look at 15 and 14 immediately in Hogg and Watson.

“On the left-wing Jonny May. It’s probably become a bit cliched, the most improved player in world rugby, he’s been that for a couple of years. I’ve been incredibly impressed with him.”
