The hosts took an early lead with a penalty from Callum Sheedy, but former England Sevens international Will Muir’s try and the resulting conversion plus a penalty from Orlando Bailey gave the visitors a 10-3 lead.

Bears captain Steve Luatua got his side back into the game with an unconverted try, before Semesa Rokoduguni scored in the corner on the brink of halftime to give the black, blue and whites a 15-8 lead at the break

Sheedy narrowed the gap with a penalty after the restart, but Muir raced in for his second try after a super offload from Max Ojomoh, 11-20.

The game changed just before the hour when Bristol were awarded a penalty try, which narrowed the gap to two points, and saw Tom Ellis sent to the sin-bin.

The visitors were then reduced to 13 when Tom Dunn was yellow carded, before Jake Kerr’s try, converted by Sheedy, saw Bristol take the lead, 25-20.

And that’s how things stayed, with Pat Lam’s men finally getting their first win of the season while Bath were condemned to a third consecutive defeat.
