5 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were Rugby Union Fans

#4. Jason Momoa (Actor)

Eponymous star of the Aquaman movie Jason Momoa was cheering on the Kiwis at the Vancouver leg of World Rugby’s sevens series at BC Place Stadium.

Attired in an old-school, non-branded All Blacks jersey from a distant era, Momoa roared the New Zealand sevens side on from the stands, and then met them in their dressing-room.

#5. Javier Bardem (Actor)

A Spanish actor best known (by some of us) for playing the psychopathic hit man Anton Chigurrh in “No Country for Old Men”.

Famed for his performance as a psychopathic hit man in No Country for Old Men, Bardem would be an intimidating presence on the rugby field. He was a good enough player to represent Spain at national under 21 level as a flanker and prop.

He once said in an interview that “playing rugby in Spain is like being a bullfighter in Japan” which suggests he suffered one concussion too many.
