“Continues to Grow” – World Rugby Confirm Schedule for 2024 HSBC Sevens Challenger

World Rugby have confirmed the schedule, for next year’s HSBC Sevens Challenger competition. The top four finishers of this all-important league will have the chance to qualify for HSBC SVNS 2025, with these men’s and women’s tournaments featuring some of the word’s most aspiring rugby sevens sides.

The 2024 competition runs from January to May, and features men’s and women’s events in Dubai, UAE and Montevideo, Uruguay. There are also standalone events in Germany (men’s) and Poland (women’s), as the budding nations push for a spot in the world’s premier sevens competition. The top four finishing sides will then have their chance for promotion, as they participate in the promotion-relegation play-off competition at the SVNS Grand Final in Madrid (May 31st – June 2nd 2024).

The top four sides in HSBC Sevens Challenger, will take on the bottom four finishers of HSBC SVNS 2024 (1st vs 12th, 2nd vs 11th etc).

2024 Men’s Sevens Challenger

Portugal, Georgia, Germany, Poland, Uruguay, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Papa New Guinea, Uganda, Tonga.

2024 Women’s Sevens Challenger

Argentina, Belgium, China, Czechia, Hong Kong, Kenya, Mexico, Paraguay, Poland, Thailand, Uganda, Papa New Guinea.

HSBC World Rugby Sevens Challenger 2024 dates:

Dubai, UAE – 12-14 January (men and women)

Montevideo, Uruguay – 8-10 March, 2024 (men and women)

Krakow, Poland – 18-19 May, 2024 (women) 

Munich, Germany – 18-19 May, 2024 (men)
