“Deeply embarrassed” – Bath’s new signing sent off before making debut

Bath’s new signing Niall Annett managed to get himself sent off before even making his debut for the club.

Ellis Genge scored two tries on his Bristol return to help his side to a late 31-29 win over the Black, Blue and Whites.

Luke Morahan gave the Bears a half-time lead, with the man who joined from Worcester sent off after a post-try melee.

Annett said after the game on Twitter: Just want to apologise to everyone associated with Bath.

“Not how I saw my first game going and deeply embarrassed and disappointed in myself. Players, staff, fans and everyone else associated, sorry for my actions.
