What England need to do to win 6 nations

THE 2018 Six Nations is hotting up with just two matchday weekends left.

The title could be wrapped up by Ireland today after their 28-8 bonus-point triumph against Scotland in Dublin

Eddie Jones’ England are now the only team that can stop them but need a bonus-point win against France in Paris to keep the Championship alive.

In any event, England will likely need to thrash Ireland by at least 20 points to overtake them in the table on the final weekend.

What are bonus points and how do you get them?

Four points are awarded for a Six Nations win with a bonus point added for any side that scores more than four tries in that game.

A bonus point is also awarded to any side who lose by fewer than seven points.

If a team loses but scores four tries and loses by less than seven points they will be awarded two points.

A draw sees two points given to each side with any bonus points to be added on top.

Any team which wins the Grand Slam (a 100 per cent record from all five games) will be awarded three bonus points.
