Shaun Edwards, the former France defence guru and seven-time Six Nations-winning coach, has joined the England women’s team in a short-term consultancy role.
The 59-year-old has linked up with the Red Roses following the end of his six-year spell with France, giving England access to one of the most decorated coaches in international rugby.
Edwards had only recently confirmed he was ready to return to international coaching after completing negotiations over his departure from the French set-up.
His latest role is understood to be a short-term consultancy rather than a permanent appointment.

Edwards' departure from France was one of the biggest coaching stories of the summer.
The Englishman had been part of Fabien Galthié's staff since 2020 and was still contracted until 2028 when France decided to make changes to their coaching set-up.
Edwards and kicking coach Vlok Cilliers were both removed, with Galthié saying it had become necessary to "evolve the organisation". L'Équipe reported that Gérald Bastide replaced Edwards in charge of the defence.

Combined with the four titles he won during his hugely successful spell with Wales, that makes Edwards a seven-time Six Nations-winning coach.
He had already made his feelings clear about returning to work, telling MailOnline that he was "open to offers" and admitting he would be disappointed not to be involved in the 2027 Six Nations.
Now his first step back into international rugby has come with England.
