Hugo Keenan got a second score for the Irish before the break, however, three penalties from Marcus Smith ensured the 14 men of England remained in the game, 9-15.
Two more penalties from Smith after the break levelled the scores before Sexton’s boot edged the visitors back ahead.
Despite England’s spirited defence and a bubblin atmosphere, Ireland took advantage of tiring legs to secure the bonus-point through late tries from Jack Conan and Finlay Bealham.
