England’s most disappointing team of the decade (2010-2020)

FH: Danny Cipriani – World-class. Don’t think any England fan will argue that the mercurial fly-half winning just 16 caps in the last decade is majorly disappointing.

SH: Joe Simpson – Another one-cap wonder. He’s proved again and again to be one of the best playmakers in the Premiership yet hasn’t had a sniff of a call-up.

LP: Alex Corbisiero – First and foremost, he is one of the best props of the last decade, starring for the British & Irish Lions in 2013. However, Corbs makes this selection chiefly due to his early retirement that meant he only won 31 England caps. Could have and maybe should have been so many more!

HK: Joe Gray – He made his one and only England appearance during their tour of New Zealand in 2013, coming off the bench in the 20-15 loss to the All Blacks. A consistent performer in the Gallagher Premiership, he probably deserved more opportunities.

TP: Paul Doran-Jones: Despite the good early promise in his career, he spent most of his time in England colours being turned upside down in the set-piece and being battered backwards in contact. Won the last of his 6 caps in 2013.
