Sonny Bill Williams took to the field today for the Auckland Blues against the British and Irish Lions in the midst of the holy festival of Ramadan which requires Muslims to fast during daylight hours.
A committed Muslim, Sonny Bill Williams will take on the Lions tomorrow, despite fasting as part of Ramadan 10 hours a day! #LionsNZ2017 pic.twitter.com/CahZG7JgC0

The Lions thought jet lag made preparation tough before their underwhelming opening performance against the New Zealand Barbarians, but imagine preparing for a top-flight game of professional rugby without taking on board any calories during daytime hours.
Williams, typically, makes light of it and decided to take on the Lions from the very start, turning them over within five minutes.

Another turnover soon followed before he showed great instincts to score just before the break.
His late break and offload to West then won the game. He was OUSTANDING.
What a result. And if you could just inject this try into my veins that’d be great #LionsNZ2017 #BLUvBIL pic.twitter.com/30UJYaAaxW
