Fans rank the five WORST transfers of the last 12 months

We asked fans in our Facebook group to nominate the 'worst signings' from the last year with the most commonly named players ranked below.

Bringing the England speedster back to Kingsholm seemed like a no-brainer, but it hasn't worked out as anyone would have hoped. Fans pointed to the fact he's struggled to cross the whitewash since his return with one supporter pointing out that his arrival has also affected the progress of winger Ollie Thorley.

Arguably the greatest fly-half to ever play the game, fans were excited to see Dan Carter join The Blues to star alongside Beauden Barrett. However, due to a niggling injury, the 38-year-old was a glorified waterboy during his time with the franchise, failing to make a single appearance.

Signed for big-money, thought to be a 12 month deal worth £350,000, Tuilagi made seven appearances for the club before suffering a torn achilles tendon in October. Still yet to return, the England centre will yet have a chance to prove his worth after signing a two-year extension at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Top of the list is former Harlequins winger Ibitoye. Having fallen out with the London club, he signed for Agen for the 2020/21 season but his cross-channel move hasn’t been fulfilling. After being released mid-season for his attitude behind the scenes, the 22-year-old has now joined Lozowski at Montpellier.
