#1. Alec Hepburn (Exeter Chiefs)
Devon Live: “A relentless display. He would have been disappointed with the missed tackle on McGuigan which led to Newcastle’s second try. However, bar that one blemish he was excellent. In total he carried 13 times as well as making 10 tackles and worked tirelessly throughout.
“Dominated at scrum time earning four penalties including the one which allowed Simmonds to kick the winning penalty, which was even more impressive after he had to come back on to the pitch for the injured Ben Moon who went off for a HIA.”
