Northampton Saints confirm new contract for England international - Multi-Year deal signed

The 33-year-old, who has also earned four England caps, joins a raft of his Saints teammates in committing his future to the Club, with Davison the 14th Northampton player to put pen to paper on a new deal this season so far.

“Ever since I arrived in Northampton, I have felt really settled here and I am loving playing for Saints,” said Davison. “It’s a great group to be part of, and the backing we get every week from our supporters means a lot to us, so staying on was an easy decision for me.

“Being here has really helped me improve as a player. The coaches have pushed me, the standards in training are high, the group is really connected, and the lads around you make you better just by how they work.

“I feel like my game has gone up a level since coming to Northampton, and that’s played a big part in getting another opportunity with England. Getting back into that international environment has been a big moment for me, as I’ve been working towards it for a while, and it’s only made me hungry for more.

“But mainly, I just enjoy turning up every day with this group. We’ve got a tight squad at Saints, good people, and everyone works hard for each other. We know what we want to achieve together, competing for titles in the PREM and in Europe, and hopefully there’s more to come for us as a team.”

Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Davison began his rugby journey in the North East and rose through the ranks at Blaydon RFC. His standout performances at National League level earned him more than 100 appearances there and selection for England Counties XV.

He moved to Newcastle Falcons in 2017, stepping up into the Gallagher PREM and becoming a mainstay of their front row with over 100 club appearances across domestic and European competitions. His consistent form led to international recognition, with Davison making his England debut in July 2021 against the USA.

The tighthead prop switched to Northampton mid-season in March 2023 to bolster Saints’ front row. He made an immediate impact, establishing himself quickly within Northampton’s pack and going on to play a major role in Saints’ PREM title-winning season in 2023/24, featuring 27 times across all competitions.

He added another 21 appearances the following year, marking significant milestones including his 50th cap for the Club against Saracens and a starting spot in the 2025 Investec Champions Cup Final against Union Bordeaux-Bègles.

This season, Davison has already made 13 more appearances for Saints and has been rewarded for his consistency at Club level with a return to international rugby. After playing against the USA on England’s summer tour, Davison was named in England’s squad for the 2026 Guinness Six Nations, and earned his fourth cap off the bench last weekend against Wales.
