Gloucester boss explains Danny Cipriani’s mystery absence

Gloucester fly-half Danny Cipriani has been absent from Gloucester’s last two matchday squads, sparking rumours he’d taken a break from the game in order to get married.

The 32-year-old also revealed that his partner, Victoria, was “no longer a single mother,” teasing that they might have already tied the knot.

However, head coach George Skivington has responded to the rumours circulating on social media.

Skivington said: “That’s a good question.

“I think he is engaged, that is as much as I know.

“He is with the squad, he is training hard. We wanted to get everyone on the pitch, we wanted to see everyone play.

“Danny is a world-class player and he is a massive part of the club.”

Cipriani announced his engagement to girlfriend on Instagram in a post saying she made him the “happiest man in the world”.

Victoria, who is good friends with Kerry Katona, is currently hard at work supporting the ‘It’s OK’ campaign, which aims to get people talking about their mental health more openly.

“You make me the happiest man in the world. I love waking up with you every morning, not knowing which one of our personalities is going to arise, and how we fall in love with each other over and over again. You make every day so much better, I can’t wait to get home from training every day to see you,” wrote Cipriani.

Victoria has two children – Jade Austin, 24, and her teenage son – and has already become a grandma after Jade became a mum four years ago.
