Golden Oldies: Nine Ex-Premiership Players You Didn’t Know Are Still Playing

4. Hayden Smith (Saracens) 

The popular USA international became somewhat a fan favourite during his two stints with Saracens between 2010-2012 and 2014-2016. Smith spent the other two years playing professional American football as a tight end for the New York Jets of the National Football League. The 32-year-old has continued to play rugby since leaving Sarries in 2016, since joining Esher in National League One.


5. Alex Crockett (Bath, Bristol, Worcester & Newcastle) 

Crockett started his professional career at Bath before representing Bristol, Worcester and Newcastle in the Premiership. The 36-year-old centre announced his retirement in 2014 but is now head coach/player of Hull Ionians in National League One.


6. Sam Tuitupou  (Worcester & Sale Sharks) 

National League One club Coventry announced the signing of All Black centre Sam Tuitupou from Sale Sharks last year. The inside centre is still playing for blue and whites in National League One, helping the club to 16 consecutive wins so far this season.
