Harlequins face the prospect of losing two top stars in the summer
Mike Brown is courting the interest of numerous Premiership clubs
Scrum-half Danny Care could link up with Owen Farrell at Saracens
Harlequins could lose top stars Danny Care and Mike Brown in the summer as both England internationals continue to consider their options.
According to The Rugby Paper, Exeter Chiefs are hoping to land a big name fullback in the close season and have already held talks with Brown.
A clause in the fullbacks contract is understood to allow him to talk to rival Premiership clubs, however, a leading agent has said that Exeter are not alone in their interest.
We heard, as reported in last weekend’s rumour round-up, that Leicester Tigers are very keen on Brown.
An agent said: “Mike is not particualtly happy that Harlequins have not pushed on over the last few years.
“Since winning the Premiership title in 2012, the club have been treading water somewhat and despite a couple of big name signings in James Horwill and Jamie Roberts, they are still losing ground on the top teams.
“Mike is a winner and wants to win some more top honours at club level.”
Meanwhile, Care is believed to be courting the interest of reigning champions Saracens and could be tempted by the lure of linking up with England teammate Owen Farrell.
Both players are extremely loyal and seem willing yo give John Kingston some time to see if he can show the club has an upward trajectory.
