Henry Slade the latest Exeter star linked with shock exit

Henry Slade is the latest Exeter Chiefs star to be linked with a move overseas with The Rugby Paper linking him with a move to France.

He’s under contract for the next few years but this is reportedly ‘not putting off’ Toulon, who recently bought Cheslin Kolbe out of his Toulouse contract.

He started both of Exeter’s victories in the Champions Cup and Premiership finals during the 2020/2021 campaign, and was man of the match during the latter

Slade made his debut for England in a match against the Barbarians on 1 June 2014, and has gone onto win 38 caps for his country thus far.

The Rugby Paper reported at the start of May that the England and British Lions centre was in talks with Toulon about a switch to the Côte d’Azur this summer.

The deal appeared to be done when last weekend the former Top 14 and European champions announced the signing on their website only to take down the post minutes later.
