Despite Eddie Jones resistance to picking in-form Gallagher Premiership players, here are four stars who impressed over the weekend for their respective clubs this weekend…
#1. Josh Hodge (Exeter Chiefs)
- Age: 21
- Position: Fullback
- Score: Northampton 31-31 Exeter Chiefs
Devon Live: "The full-back was outstanding as he brought fear into the Saints defence with every carry, scoring a try from 55m out after breaking the attempted tackle of Fraser Dingwell. The initial stats have him racking up 145m in attack and beating six defenders which sounds about right."
#2. Dan Kelly (Leicester Tigers)
- Age: 20
- Position: Centre
- Score: Leicester Tigers 35-23 Gloucester
Leicestershire Live: "Tackled like a demon smashing into Gloucester bodies 15 times. Remained effective until the end with a neat break in the Gloucester 22. Sadly his battle with England rival Mark Atkinson was short-lived, after the visiting 12 was injured after 30 minutes"
#3. Nathan Hughes (Bath RFC)
- Age: 30
- Position: Number 8
- Score: Newcastle 25-30 Bath
Somerset Live: "Made big tackles and won key turnovers as well. Only a yellow card for a high tackle on Pete Lucock stopped him getting an even higher score, fortunately Bath finished 7-7 during his 10 minutes off the pitch. In the form of his life."
#4. Harry Thacker (Bristol Bears)
- Age:
- Position:
- Score: Bristol 31-19 Wasps
Bristol Live: "The hooker was subtly absolutely pivotal to Bristol Bears’ victory despite not making the eye-catching runs we have become accustomed to."
