Liam Williams forced to stand down from rugby – will miss Autumn Nations Series

Wales fullback Liam Williams will play no part in the Autumn Nations Series campaign after suffering a collarbone injury on his Cardiff debut against Munster.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury 20 minutes into his debut after falling heavily under a challenge.

In a statement, the club said: “The Wales and British & Irish Lions fullback had impressed on his Cardiff debut, before damaging his shoulder in a tackle on the 20 minute mark.

“Williams now faces a recovery period of 12-16 weeks on the sidelines following surgery.”
