Martin Johnson asked who were his five toughest opponents – includes Paul O’Connell


England legend Martin Johnson has revealed the five toughest opponents he shared the field with in his illustrious rugby career.

A giant of the game in more ways than one, the 2003 World Cup-winning captain is widely regarded as one of the greatest locks to have ever played the game.

Here are the five players Martin Johnson selected as his toughest opponents in international rugby.

5. Sean Fitzpatrick (New Zealand)

He was the Captain of the mighty New Zealand rugby team and had an international career that spanned twelve years, making 92 appearances, which included a world record of 63 consecutive Test matches and 51 as Captain.

Johnson said: ” “Played for the All Blacks for ten years, a fantastic competitor and a great captain.”
