Doncaster scrum-half Tom James will make the step up to join Northampton Saints, according to The Rugby paper.
They suggest Saints have won the race to sign the exciting playmaker, beating rivals Wasps, Gloucester and Newcastle Falcons to the signing.
The 24-year-old former England Students player joined the Knights following an impressive debut season in the Championship Bedford making 17 appearances and scoring twice; including one against the Knights.
Prior to his arrival at Goldington Road James was a key performer for National League One outfit Loughborough Students, captaining the side and touching down for ten tries to earn an England Students call up at the end of 2015/16.
