We rate the three referee’s from the biggest international games of the weekend a Jaco Peyper, Andrew Brace and Angus Gardner took centre stage.
#1. Jaco Peyper (New Zealand vs Ireland) – 4/10
The experienced South African official lost control of the game in the first half but wrestled back power in the second.
He correctly sent off Angus Ta’avai but didn’t endear himself to Ireland fans when Leicester Fainga’anuka got only a yellow for a high hit on Mack Hansen before ruling against what looked like a clear penalty try for the men in green.
Peyper did marshal the scrum effectively though with only one of the 17 needing to be reset.
