Gloucester fly-half Danny Cipriani reportedly turned down a huge offer from Kobelco Steelers during lockdown to stay at Kingsholm.
According to a report in Japan, the Top League side were willing to pay the Cherry & Whites significant compensation and offered the playmaker in the region of £1m per season to replace departing Dan Carter.
However, the 32-year-old didn’t even entertain the move, telling club officials he was committed and settled at Gloucester.
The fly-half may have finally found love after falling for a mental health campaigner following his own positive #BeKind movement, and didn’t want to put that in jeopardy by moving overseas.
Victoria, who is good friends with Kerry Katona, is currently hard at work supporting the ‘It’s OK’ campaign, which aims to get people talking about their mental health more openly.
A source revealed to The Mirror last month that: “Danny has really got a spring in his step and it’s down to Victoria. She has put the smile back on his face
“It’s still early days but they are enjoying spending time together under lockdown.”
The two have since got engaged.
