Revealed: The biggest and strongest beasts in rugby

Rugby is dominated by big men that tower over the rest of us mere mortals. There are, however, a few individuals who quite literally stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Here, RUCK picks out the giants who look on course to make their mark this season.


Courtney Lawes – England

Courtney played in 44 of England’s previous 53 matches, before his British & Irish Lions commitments in New Zealand. He may well start at No 6 and England will look to the 6ft 6in forward to bash his way over the gain-line.  Not only does he bench press 140 kilograms, but has frighteningly electric acceleration.
