These five players did their chances of going on the 2021 tour no favours with their performances today

There was some good but a lot of bad from Lowe. With Louis Rees-Zammit, Anthony Watson, Jonny May and Duhan van de Merwe all impressing this weekend - he really needed to step up. The winger came very close to scoring a try and made some impressive clearances but also kicked poorly at times, playing into the hands of the French backs. Missed a crucial tackle on Dulin for France’s second try.

The inspirational Wales captain rushed back from injury to be fit for the 2021 Six Nations, but thus far he seems to be operating at 80% maximum. Conceding four penalties, making zero metres, and missing two tackles is far from the norm for the most-capped player of all-time. An uninspiring display.

Fluffed a pass to Jonny May to spoil a promising strike-move in the first half against Italy, and lacked conviction whenever England’s phase-play lost a bit of momentum. Not at his best - which was not helped by replacement Dan Robson making an almost instant impact when he came on. Ali Price also looked good for Scotland.

Failed to live up to his dominant Twickenham display in either the loose or at scrum-time. Meanwhile, Mako Vunipola looked good and his England return and Wyn Jones put in another monster display for Wales.

An uncharacteristically anonymous performance from the Leinster flanker against France. Tacking is van der Flier’s speciality but his tally of six tackles is a disappointing haul on a disappointing day. Meanwhile, Hamish Watson and Justin Tipuric were in stellar form as the two clashed at Murrayfield.
