His daughter, Hollie Shearer, recently announced her engagement to England rugby international Joe Marchant.
A Parisian Proposal
Hollie, 29, broke the news on social media back in November, showing off her sparkling engagement ring in a romantic snap with Marchant in front of the Eiffel Tower.
The couple, together since January 2022, made the move to Paris last year after Marchant signed with Stade Français. Judging by their latest photos, they’re loving the City of Love!
Shearer’s Proud Dad Moment
The Premier League’s all-time top scorer didn’t hold back his excitement, sharing his joy with heart-eyes and clapping emojis.
Known for his quick wit, the 54-year-old pundit has often joked about his daughter’s partner choices. Shearer previously quipped, “At least he’s not a footballer!”
A Summer of Sun, Love, and Banter
Last summer, the couple turned heads during a sun-soaked getaway to Greece. While Hollie dazzled her followers with stunning vacation shots, it was Marchant’s questionable swimwear that caught Shearer’s eye.
The football icon couldn’t resist trolling his soon-to-be son-in-law, commenting, “WTF are the smugglers you have on?”
