All Blacks supporters have been left eating humble pie after Beauden Barrett silenced his critics during New Zealand's emphatic 50-19 victory over Australia at Eden Park.
The 35-year-old had faced questions over his place in the side ahead of Saturday's Bledisloe Cup clash.
But Barrett delivered a timely reminder of his quality as New Zealand ran riot against their trans-Tasman rivals.
And some supporters were quick to admit they had got it wrong.
All Blacks fans apologise to Beauden Barrett
One supporter took to X to issue a public apology following Barrett's performance.
"Apologies, Beauden Barrett. I will enjoy my humble pie tonight after you played like a demon. Carter too. That was a big shift."
Another fan account, Rugby Bloggers, was equally impressed.
"And Beauden Barrett? Three clutch moments proved he still has what it takes to perform at the highest Test level. Class is permanent."
Rugby commentator Gerrit Theron also had a message for those questioning the veteran's future.
"Anyone saying Beauden Barrett's time in the black jersey is over might want to think again."
The reaction marked quite a turnaround.
Back in August, All Blacks fans had branded Barrett a "total liability" following New Zealand's victory over the Bulls.
One supporter even suggested the two-time World Rugby Player of the Year should retire.
Two months later, some of those doubts appear to be fading.

Barrett's selection had been a talking point before kick-off.
With Damian McKenzie handed the No.10 jersey, the veteran returned to full-back as Dave Rennie reshuffled his backline.
The decision was questioned in some quarters, particularly with Josh Jacomb missing out.
But Barrett helped justify his selection with an assured display as New Zealand pulled away in the second half.
The All Blacks led 17-14 at the break before taking complete control, scoring 33 second-half points.
McKenzie also impressed, while Barrett's defensive contributions proved valuable when Australia threatened.

What's next for Beauden Barrett?
Barrett's international future remains an intriguing talking point, particularly amid reports linking him with a move to England.
As RUCK revealed on Friday, Bristol Bears and Newcastle Red Bulls have both been linked with the double World Cup winner.
His brother Scott has also attracted interest, with the pair potentially available following the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Barrett has previously admitted that playing in France appeals to him, although no move has been confirmed.
For now, his focus remains on New Zealand.
And after Saturday's performance, some supporters might think twice before writing him off again.
