Some breaking news on the commentary front ahead of the start of the 2022 Six Nations kicking off this weekend.
Brian Moore, the former England hooker who, alongside Eddie Butler, has been synonymous with the BBC's coverage of the Six Nations for the past two decades, will commentate on his final men's Six Nations match this weekend.
Having started his commentary career at the BBC with a Calcutta Cup clash, it's fitting that he'll bow out after another Scotland v England clash at Murrayfield this weekend.
Moore isn't done completely with commentary on the BBC however, as he intends to continue working on the women's Six Nations coverage.
The hooker did a great job of commentating on the Red Roses games in the Autumn and the BBC now see this as a better fit as they look to move onto fresher talent for the men's with Jeremy Guscott also being moved on.
He wrote: "My England career began with a Calcutta Cup, and my BBC co-comms career on the Men's 6 Nations will end on Saturday with another. Thank you to all at BBC Sport, especially my mate, Eddie Butler. It's been a privilege to work on some unforgettable sporting occasions.
"I'm pleased to say I will be working on the Women's 6 Nations coverage. My commitment to women's rugby goes back as far as 1991, helping the England forwards. Women's rugby is the key to sustaining all rugby long term, and I'm proud to still be involved."
