The 27-year-old, called into the Lions squad last summer as a replacement for the injured Tomas Williams, was close to joining Exeter Chiefs last year, but Toulon insisted he complete the final year of his deal.
White, a former England Under-20 international, now appears on Perpignan’s radar if they fail to secure their first-choice options. Meanwhile, Saracens, Edinburgh, and R360 are all said to be monitoring the scrum-half, while Toulon are eager to keep him. RUCK sources have also linked him with a potential move to Bristol Bears.
From England youth to Scotland star
White’s rise to international prominence is notable. After captaining the England U20s to the final of the 2018 World Rugby Under-20 Championship, he switched allegiances to Scotland, making his senior debut in the 2022 Six Nations. Known for his energy, quick service, and try-scoring ability, White has cemented himself as Scotland’s first-choice scrum-half.
Although he wasn’t in the original squad, White joined the Lions for their 2025 Australia tour after Tomos Williams was sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Off the field, White is in a relationship with British tennis star Jodie Burrage. The couple met on social media in 2019 and have lived together in Richmond, South West London.
