We take a look at five England players who totally blew their chance to earn a spot in Eddie Jones squad to tour Australia after massively underperforming during the embaressing 52-21 defeat to Barbarians.

#1. Mark Atkinson

  • Age: 32
  • Club: Gloucester
  • Position: Centre
Mail Online 4/10: "One forward pass and then followed that with another wayward effort which was intercepted by Damian Penaud for a third Barbarians try."
RUCK 3/10: Was found wanting. His misplaced pass for the Barbarians second try was just plain bad.
Planet Rugby 5/10: "After playing the ball relatively well for most of the first half, Atkinson threw an unforgivable interception to Damian Penaud to give the 14-man Baa-Baas a 19-11 lead at half time."

#2. Harry Randall

  • Age: 24
  • Club: Bristol Bears
  • Position: Scrum-half
Mail Online 3.5/10: "Had his pass intercepted by Charles Ollivon and couldn’t get back to stop the Barbarians captain scoring. Would have been disappointed with his time on the field."

#3. Charlie Ewels

  • Age: 26
  • Club: Bath
  • Position: Lock
Rugby Pass 4/10: "Ewels has become a consistent feature in Eddie Jones’ England but struggled to do much to state a claim for a starting role in Australia."
Planet Rugby 5/10: "Ewels’ selection continues to confuse because of performances like today. An average Premiership lock, he was unremarkable for England. "

#4. Will Collier

#5. Sam Underhill

  • Age: 25
  • Club: Bath
  • Position: Flanker
Planet Rugby 3/10: "A lacking performance from a man playing for his job after falling out of favour. Continues to be one dimensional player who adds nothing in attack while showing no control at the breakdown. "
