Gloucester have confirmed they will have supporter in Kingsholm for their clash with Harlequins next Monday to act as a second pilot for rugby union.
Following a successful trial at The Stoop for Harlequins v Bath last weekend, the event will be utilised to further demonstrate the strict delivery of social distancing measures to ensure crowd safety as rugby returns with supporters in the stands.
Lance Bradley, Chief Executive Officer, was naturally thrilled be Rugby Union’s second stadium selected for a government trial.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have been selected to host a pilot event to let fans back into Kingsholm Stadium on Monday. We believe that Gloucester Rugby fans are the most passionate in the country, and I know they’re desperate to watch our Club play live again. It should be a great advert not only for Gloucester Rugby, but for Premiership Rugby as a whole.”
The event will take place with a reduced capacity crowd, with priority being given to those 1873 Club Members and Club Members who so kindly donated their season ticket money towards our new training facility.
Should those supporters not take up the available allocation of tickets then other 1873 Club Members and Club Members will be given the opportunity to apply for tickets. It is not anticipated that any tickets will be available for general sale.
We will update supporters tomorrow with further information on how they can apply to attend the game.
