Former NFL star Jason Kelce is set to try rugby, with ex-England prop Joe Marler helping him prepare for his first game.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star retired from American football in 2024.
Kelce, 38, enjoyed a fine NFL career. He won the Super Bowl and earned seven Pro Bowl selections.
Now, he is trying his hand at rugby.
And he has turned to former England star Joe Marler for help.
Jason Kelce reveals Joe Marler training session
Kelce admits he still has plenty to learn about rugby.
"I got a crash course from Joe Marler," he explained.
The former NFL star joked about how much he had to learn in such a short time.
Marler spent 17 years playing rugby at the top level.
Kelce knows one training session will not make him an expert.
"We'll see how it goes," he added.
Marler won 95 caps for England before retiring in November 2024.
The former Harlequins prop was known for his power in the scrum and his larger-than-life personality.
He now hopes to pass some of that knowledge on to Kelce.
NFL legend takes on new challenge
Kelce spent his entire 13-season NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He helped the franchise win Super Bowl LII in 2018 and established himself among the league's most respected offensive linemen.
His retirement was confirmed by the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2024.
His experience in American football could prove useful in rugby's physical exchanges, particularly at the scrum.
However, the technical demands of rugby union present a very different challenge.
Kelce's rugby involvement appears to be a one-off opportunity rather than a permanent professional career change.
The full details of his rugby appearance have yet to be independently confirmed.
