George Ford and Joe Marler set to play out of position against Wales

Fly-half Ford is set to fill in at scrum-half, while Marler, who usually scrums down at loose-head, will offer front-row cover on the right of the pack.

“We’d like to take three in every specialist [position], but that would leave us short in other positions, so we’ve decided to go with two there at scrum-half and two at tight-head,” said Jones.

“There are risks involved in it, but there are risks involved in other positions as well. We’ve got contingency in George Ford, who has played a little bit at half-back. 

“He’s been doing some training there and he’ll continue to do that.

“Joe Marler prepared for the 2015 World Cup as a third tight-head and we’ve done some preliminary work with him. He’s definitely strong enough to play there.”
