Gloucester Rugby are suing Premiership rivals Sale Sharks for damages over the tapping up of centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg,
The Cherry & Whites are seeking around £400,000 in compensation after Van Rensburg signed a contract with both Premiership clubs.
Van Rensburg initially signed a three-year deal with Gloucester in October 2017 for the 2018-19 season before joining Sale Sharks on loan.
The Springbok centre then signed a three-year contract with Sale in January 2018 without informing Gloucester.
Found to have been under contract with two clubs, the RFU charged van Rensburg under rule 5.12 for ‘conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game’ and a panel issued a fine of £32,500 – of which £25,000 will be repaid to Gloucester – and two-week suspension.

Sale admitted to two breaches, including regulation 7.1 relating to player approaches, and were handed a five-point deduction suspended to two seasons, as well as a £20,000 fine.
Van Rensburg’s agent, Matthew Ginvert, was not present in the disciplinary hearing held via Zoom video link.
Ginvert admitted a breach of RFU intermediary regulation 8.5.2 for ‘failing to observe the highest standards of fair dealing’ and was sanctioned with sa £3,750 fine and required to take a mandatory agent education programme.

Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg’s brother, Graham, has played for Scotland in the IRB Sevens World Series as well as representing his country at under-18, under-19 and under-20. A very talented player, his career did not take off in the same way as his younger brother due to a number of serious knee injuries.
Jerry Sexton, brother of Johnny
He is the younger brother of Ireland fly-half Johnny. Sexton represented Leinster Rugby at schoolboy level but did not make the professional academy. The lock then moved to France to play lower level rugby before joining Exeter Chiefs. Following further stints with London irish and Jersey Reds, Sexton joined South African Pro14 side Southern Kings on a three-year contract ahead of the 2019–20 season.
