Leicester Tigers player set to make final appearance before retirement

Club captain Jenny Maxwell will lead the side in her final appearance before retiring, as she prepares to move on to a new opportunity beyond her playing career.

Maxwell lines up alongside Tess Feury in the half-backs. The only alteration in the backline sees Georgie Lingham return on the right wing following her involvement with GB Sevens.

In the forward pack, Katherine Baverstock is set to make her first start for Leicester Tigers, having featured off the bench last weekend.

Leicester Tigers Director of Women’s Rugby Fraser Goatcher said:

“We’re always excited to play in front of our home crowd at Mattioli Woods Welford Road - the support that they offer is invaluable, and gives the side a huge boost in difficult moments.”

Speaking about Maxwell’s retirement, he added:

“Jenny Maxwell leaves a legacy that goes far beyond the pitch. We know that as always, she will give everything for the shirt on her final appearance for the club. It will be an emotional goodbye, but she goes with everyone’s best wishes.”
