British and Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland has revealed that Anthony Watson and Dan Biggar had to get injections after the win over Japan at Murrayfield on Saturday.
“The boys are all pretty good but they’re a bit sore after the Japan game,” Gatland said.
“You’d expect a few knocks and stuff. Pretty much everyone is pretty good, really."
ANTHONY WATSON (TOE):
The inger Anthony has had a jab in a sore toe. Head coach Warren Gatland says it's just a minor complaints and nothing to worry about.
DAN BIGGAR (KNEE):
Biggar has been nursing a minor knee problem following his man-of-the-match performance for the Lions in their warm-up victory over Japan at Murrayfield. He has had a cortisone injection and sits out Saturday's opening game in South Africa against the Sigma Lions in Johannesburg.
LUKE COWAN-DICKIE (HEAD):
Despite suffering a worrying looking head knock against Harlequins for Exeter Chiefs last weekend, the hooker is fit enough to be part of the Lions bench this weekend.
Gatland said “Yeah, Dickie is fine. The Doctors at Exeter gave him the all clear and he's been great this week with us."
