#5. Tom Varndell - Bury St Edmunds RUFC

National League 2 South Bury St Edmunds RUFC have confirmed the signing of former England international as a coach and player in 2020.

Still the Premiership’s record try-scorer with 92 from 180 appearances, primarily from spells at Leicester and Wasps – two of the most successful clubs in the modern era – the 34-year-old had looked to have played his last game after departing Yorkshire Carnegie.

#4. Shane Williams - Amman United

The Wales legend made a return to Welsh rugby in 2017, coming out of retirement to play for his beloved Amman United. The former Wales and British Lions star stunned spectators as he took the field for his home town side in the National League 3 West B match against Burry Port. He then played for them in a final at the Millenium Stadium. He’s since played a further handful of games for the club.

#3. Mike Tindall (Minchinhampton)

England legend and World Cup winner Mike Tindall has played a number of matches for his local club, Minchinhampton, which is close to his home. The legendary centre and podcast host of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby also does some coaching sessions with their backs whenever he has a gap in his busy schedule.

#2. Dan Carter (Southbridge)

The All Black legend played a match for his childhood club Southbridge in December, scoring 12 points for his boyhood side. He played the full 80 minutes and scored six of his seven kicks at goal as his side beat West Melton 54-14. Following the game, Carter revealed he intends to play a bigger part at his local club moving forward.

#1. Ben Foden - Chester

The former England fullback often turns out for hometown club Chester RFC alongside his brother Tom during the off-season from Major league Rugby, where he currently plays for New York.

In October 2019, Foden was a contestant in as a member of the group, Try Star, alongside Levi Davis and . They were eliminated in the semi-final, finishing in fifth place
