Leicester Tigers are set for a significant overhaul of their playing squad that will end in at least five senior players leaving, RUCK understands...
1. Jonny May
May is yet to agree to terms with the Tigers for beyond his contract which ends in June because we understand he is reluctant to take a pay cut of around £100,000 a year.
Tigers want May, 29, to stay at Welford Road but Steve Diamond’s Sharks, who are looking to replace Chris Ashton after he joined Harlequins, are circling, according to The Rugby Paper.
2. Will Spencer
The Rugby Paper has reported that Leicester Tigers and ex-Worcester second row Will Spencer is being tipped for a return to Sixways this summer.
Spencer made 26 appearances for Warriors between 2016 and 2018 and earned himself a call-up to the England training squad in 2017.
3. Sione Kalamafoni
Scarlets are leading the race to land the powerful No.8 who is among the top ball carriers in the Gallagher Premiership.
In his first season since moving from Gloucester in the summer of 2018 he made more first team appearances than any of his Leicester team-mates.
He also made more metres than any other player in the Premiership.
4. Joe Thomas
Leicester midfielderThomas has been speaking to both the Dragons and Scarlets, according to The Rugby Paper.
5. Guy Thompson
He was told he would be let go from Leicester Tigers last month, according to the Mail Online.
The news came just days before England went into lockdown due to coronavirus.
Despite talking with a number of clubs, the 33-year-old now faces an uncertain future with rugby 'going through difficult times' .
