Tim Visser is still dazzling Twickenham Stoop, but who are the greatest rugby players from Holland to make their mark in rugby? Steven Smith counts them down.
1. Tim Visser - Harlequins and Scotland winger
Born in Zeewolde, Netherlands, the winger was the first Dutch rugby player to play professionally.
He joined the Newcastle Falcons Academy as a teenager in 2007, after having been spotted playing in the Amsterdam Sevens before later joining Edinburgh 2010.
Five years later Visser joined Quins and scored another nine tries f last season, including the memorable winning try as the Club beat Saracens at The Stoop.
He announced his retirement from international rugby towards the end of the season after winning 33 caps but Scotland's loss promises to be Harlequins' gain for the 2018/19 season.
2. Kelly van Harskamp - Female rugby sevens player
She was the IRB Sevens Women’s Player of the Year in 2010-11 – and this video shows you why. First capped against Wales at the 2007 European Championships, her size and pace make her a nightmare for opposition defences.
3. Marc Visser - Holland's most capped player and father of Tim
The powerhouse number 8, father of Tim, won 67 caps and captained the Dutch national side in the oval-ball game. His other son, Sep, represents the Netherlands.
4. Rob Verbakel
A late starter to rugby, Verbakel only started playing at university at age 19.
The lock first played in New Zealand for Canterbury and Otago before playing in Europe for Glasgow Warriors and Northampton Saints. He is currently playing in the Dutch Ereklasse (top league).
5. Zeno Kieft
He regained top form in the 2015-2016 season and the full confidence of his coaches, even wearing the captain's armband in the European Challenge. He has extended his contract until 2019.
6. Michael van der Loos
A lock from the Hague. Van der Loos played successfully in Wales and France, and was twice asked to consider naturalisation in order to play for one of their national sides. He now owns and runs a Tapas bar on the party island of Ibiza, Spain.
