Newcastle Falcons have bolstered their pack with the signing of Scotland lock Jamie Hodgson on a one-year deal.
The 27-year-old, who stands at an imposing 6ft 6in, arrives at Kingston Park as a free agent after parting ways with Edinburgh Rugby at the end of last season. He brings international pedigree, having earned five caps for Scotland, with his last appearance coming in 2022.

Hodgson spent a brief stint on loan at Bristol Bears last season, but his time there was cut short after just four appearances due to a tricep injury.
Speaking to the club website, Hodgson said:
"It's a great opportunity and I feel like the club is heading in a really positive direction, both on and off the field."
Falcons fans will be hoping Hodgson’s arrival helps shore up a side that struggled last season, finishing bottom of the Premiership with just two wins from 18 matches.
