Referee ratings: Who made the best and worst decisions this weekend

We rate the three referee's from the biggest international games of the weekend a Jaco Peyper, Andrew Brace and Angus Gardner took centre stage.
#1. Jaco Peyper (New Zealand vs Ireland) - 4/10
The experienced South African official lost control of the game in the first half but wrestled back power in the second.
He correctly sent off Angus Ta’avai but didn't endear himself to Ireland fans when Leicester Fainga’anuka got only a yellow for a high hit on Mack Hansen before ruling against what looked like a clear penalty try for the men in green.
Peyper did marshal the scrum effectively though with only one of the 17 needing to be reset.
#2. Andrew Brace (Australia vs England) - 8/10
The Irish whistleblower and his team of officials made no big obvious errors during what was another emotional test match. Elis Genge was arguably lucky not to be yellow carded during the first half though and the scrum was a bit of a mess throughout in Brisbane.
#3. Angus Gardner (South Africa vs Wales) - 7/10
Set his stall out from early on and refereed the game really well up until his baffling decision to yellow card Alun Wyn Jones midway through the second half.

- Jordie Barrett over Damian de Allende is far from being correct. The hype around Dupont is also overreaching, he's probably 4th in the world and has been since the 2023 WC.
