Richie Mo'unga comes in to start for the All Blacks

Dave Rennie has named a much-changed All Blacks side for the final franchise match of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, with Mo'unga handed the No.10 jersey alongside returning scrum-half Noah Hotham.

The clash kicks off at 7pm local time on Tuesday (5am Wednesday, August 26 NZT) and will be shown live on Sky Sport.

Mo'unga's selection is the headline news, with the 56-cap playmaker making his long-awaited return to the All Blacks after spending the past three seasons playing his club rugby in Japan.

He will form an exciting half-back partnership with Hotham, who is set to make his first All Blacks appearance of 2026.

There are plenty of other talking points in Rennie's selection, with prop Saula Ma'u set to make his first appearance for the All Blacks after being named among the replacements.

Injury cover duo Ofa Tu'ungafasi and Jamie Hannah have also been thrown straight into the match-day squad after flying in to join the group yesterday.

Tu'ungafasi, who has won 68 Test caps, provides significant experience from the bench.

Patrick Tuipulotu will captain the side from the second-row, while Beauden Barrett provides another huge dose of experience at full-back.

Rieko Ioane starts at outside centre, with Timoci Tavatavanawai wearing the No.12 jersey.

Kyle Preston is named among the replacements and is now the only player to have featured in every match of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour.

Peter Lakai and Anton Lienert-Brown, who featured in Saturday's first Test at Ellis Park, will also back up against the Lions.
